Bombings, Casualties Surge in Escalation of Saudi Air War in Yemen

The latest monthly data out of Yemen shows what everyone following the country already knows, the air war is bad, and rapidly getting worse, with data showing air raids surging across the country.

Maarib and Saada Provinces have seen the highest numbers of strikes recently, though in the past few weeks, a lot of other areas are getting hit as well. Hodeidah saw its highest number of strikes since the 2018 deal.

In the course of November, some 29 civilian casualties were reported. This is, of course, just an estimate, but would be the highest monthly figure since Mid-2020.

That’s a surprisingly low number when compared with the huge average of 30 airstrikes per day and the estimate that 28% of all airstrikes hit identifiable civilian targets.

Assange Verdict: Vengeance Is Ours, Saith the Agency

Are the CIA and its contractors able to bully not only the U.S. Department of Justice, but also the UK judiciary? This is not hard to conclude after the High Court decision announced early Friday to bow to the US and extradite Julian Assange.

Underneath the pettifoggery, the decision demonstrates that the British will lop the "juris" off jurisprudence and pay heed only to "prudence" in kowtowing to the security state in Washington and its junior partner in London.

The objective, of course, is to warn any journalist or publisher tempted to investigate and and expose U. S. war crimes or political sabotage, US "Justice" is going to get you, no matter who you are or where you live. (Call it a new wrinkle on the concept of "universal jurisdiction", if you will.)

Gantz Tells US He Ordered Israeli Military to Prepare an Attack on Iran

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz told reporters that he notified US officials during meetings in Washington last week that he ordered the Israeli Defense Forces to prepare to attack Iran.

The order he gave was to "prepare for the Iranian challenge at the operational level," Gantz said on the sidelines of a conference in Miami, Florida, that was held Friday. A senior Israeli military source told The Times of Israel that Gantz might have presented a timeline to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin when an Israeli attack could take place.

The Israelis have been pushing hard for the Biden administration to abandon indirect negotiations with Iran to revive the nuclear deal that are ongoing in Vienna. Gantz and other officials want the US to expand sanctions and prepare military operations, and it appears that the Americans are listening.

Conflict in the Ukraine: Do Americans Realize What Is at Stake?

Seven years after President Biden and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, played key roles in carrying out the 2014 putsch that toppled Ukraine's democratically elected president and ignited a deadly civil war, the U.S. and NATO have escalated hostilities toward Russia in Ukraine and in the Black Sea. As the conflict between the US and Russia over Ukraine threatens to erupt into a hot war, and neocons on both sides of the US political spectrum exhort Biden to get tough on Russia, the question arises whether Americans understand the recent history of Ukraine, particularly the US role in causing and intensifying the conflict, the fascist influences that pervade Ukraine’s military, and the anti-democratic actions of Ukraine's current President Zelensky.

Friends of the House of Saud: America Ever Owes the Royals Deference and Defense

No matter the many crimes committed by the House of Saud, defenders rush to take up their cause. The Wall Street Journal's Karen Elliott House was the latest. Readers can imagine tears cascading across her keyboard as she wrote about the plight of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which "is begging the U.S. for Patriot interceptors to defend itself against drone and missile attacks from the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen."

House complained that this is bad for America for three reasons. "First, it endangers the Saudi people, who look to the US for protection." Actually, what endangers the Saudi people is their reckless crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, and especially his continuing war of aggression against the KSA's much poorer neighbor.

Sleepy Joe Cradles the Dead Hand of the Soviet Presidium

What's wrong with these people?

We are referring to the dipshit NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, who recently informed the Kremlin that what happens on Russia's border is none of Russia's damn business:

"It's only Ukraine and 30 NATO allies that decide when Ukraine is ready to join NATO. … Russia has no veto, Russia has no say, and Russia has no right to establish a sphere of influence trying to control their neighbors."
